Molodets is a grant-funded project created and developed for the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. State Department. It provides a free English language curriculum for Russian speakers worldwide to help them improve their language skills and learn about American culture.

As the project's Art Director and Graphic Designer, I created the logo, branding, and visual identity system that defines the visual messaging. The Molodets educational materials are most often used by people experiencing displacement, so they must be trauma-informed, 508 compliant, and friendly for various levels of digital literacy. The brand identity showcased throughout our digital media presence ensures that the website, educational materials, and social media content are modern, engaging, and bilingual.

As a graphic designer for the project, I am also responsible for the layout design and formatting of the educational materials, available digitally in the form of fillable PDFs and printed in a 300+ page textbook. The curriculum comprises 12 modules with 57 units, each with six lessons and a custom lesson plan with supplemental activities. The materials range from grammar lessons to American Culture topics explored through readings, each with accompanying TikTok videos and podcasts. Each lesson includes a custom digital illustration, affirmations, and motivational graphics seamlessly incorporated into the learning materials.

The social media component of the project is just as crucial as the long-form materials themselves. A key goal of the project is to make English language learning accessible to modern adults. Therefore, we distill each piece of the curriculum into bite-sized pieces that learners can easily digest while on the train commuting to work, during their lunch break, or while sitting in the carpool line waiting to pick up the kids from school.

As of 2025, the Molodets curriculum is used in 75+ countries worldwide. Our website sees thousands of unique visitors monthly, and our social media platforms have almost 10,000 followers.
